So after going about 3 months with the worst television Ive ever come in contact with, having completely run out of episodes of Glee and How I met Your Mother I decided to dive into the film Eat Pray Love. I have heard mixed reviews of the film, being a novel first I was a bit skeptical and quite frankly I never get around to reading a book before the film. Anyway, I was impressed. I was impressed because I feel like Liz is a perfect depiction of me. Of course I'm not in my 30s, divorced and Guru seeking but I feel her thoughts so familiar. I want to travel the world, eat carbs without remorse, learn a different language fluently, and fall in love...with myself.
I've started this excursion, or quest I guess. I was running before, and I guess I still am, at least I'm recognizing this. I'm running from my problems because I can never face them. It takes me long enough to check my bank balance so I don't overdraw I hurt a few people before I left home. People I should have never hurt, people I love and deeply care about. I was selfish, lonely, and confused. I can't say that I have changed since I have been here, but I'm more conscious of the majority of my life. I have flaws, a lot of them. I trust too easily, I'm never satisfied and am always searching for something. I have no direction, I need a direction. I never wanted one until I came to Ireland. Like Liz in the film, I want to marvel at something. I want to set a goal and actually stick to it. Constantly I try new things, hobbies, things other people introduce me to, but I can never focus, or motivate myself to become really truly good at it. I'm not a good student, no I'm really not. I'll admit this much, and I'm sure that it correlates directly with me never being able to finish anything. My parents really should have taken me to a doctor at a younger age when I lying to teachers about crayon colors, and flushing a fellow classmates earings down the toilet. (Yes, this did happen) Of course I have grown and become what I think to be a good person. I love people, all people. Especially aged people. There is a beauty with age, they know things. Although there is such beauty with innocence and youth. I guess it's that balance, the balance I have yet to mention I believe in, the one that feels merely non existent these days. I'm on a dull road, melancholy, stuck with a routine that isn't a routine, or at least one I am not proud of. I want to be done with school.

Nothing important.
I am queen of a few things. These by short include embarrassing myself, being a complete sap, procrastinating(I will challenge you), pushing replay and having to balance eating salt and sweet things. The last thing is not a joke, and I was more avid at satisfying my taste buds with these flavors in Amsterdam. I know my blog is supposed to be "me being lost in dublin" I think this might constitute for ...well, something. Anway, I have two friends visiting from the states tomorrow! I think this is what I've needed. I now feel at home here Dublin, it's going to be neat to be able to show friends from home my new home. Also, sharing my case of deteriorating liver to fellow Americans (:
Today's positive: Arthurs has some bangin' hot cocoa.

In a slump.
It's official. I've had my first bought of homesickness since I've been here. I guess it was inevitable. So, for a few days I locked myself up and self-sulked. It's a start of a new week, the sun is shining and started off the day with an early start and some good music (:
I'll give a glimpse of home because it's on my mind.

Amsterdam.
What a TRIPPP
After beautiful canals, too many cheese fries, lots of cakes, new friends, many coffee shops and an incredible hostel
I must say that the trip was quite the success B)
...other than the fact that the ATM machine ate my debit card the second night there.

A non productive day...
Well, here we are again. Since I'm sitting around my "apartment" searching for my next big adventure (seemingly very minimal, due to the fact that I am broke),I thought I'd update.
Update? Yeah, I haven't been very good at this. Last night, like Sunday night I went to bed pretty early. How I can be completely bored to exhaustion in such a 'vibrant' city is beyond me. I'm not warn out. To be honest, I'm ready to graduate. I love college, I really do. I've met some incredible...and well, not so interesting people all the same. Realizing that I only have 7 more weeks here put me in the slumps. Which should have motivated me to go out and walk around, enjoy the city. I have no direction really. I've learned a lot about myself coming to Europe, some good, some bad. However, I've realized that I am who I am.
So, today I did not go to class. It was one of those days, or an excuse to call it one of those days. Well, I at least got to skype with a good friend who's currently teaching in Vietnam.
Oh yeah, I recently went to Prague, ha a not so minor detail I've been meaning to fill all you readers in on:
A few quick pics of the trip:
Lennon Wall, Prague.
Prague was a beautiful city! Met some great new friends at the first Hostel I stayed at. And another friend who we met as our couch surfer host! I highly reccommend this to anyone who is looking to travel, meet new friends and save a buck to consider it. www.couch-surfing.orgNext trip.. Amsterdam..with an empty bank account :)

Behind times- hallow WEENIE
OKAY! So, my brief introduction on Dublin was well, brief to say the least. A few updates on what's currently happening now!
HALLOWEEN WEEKEND IN DUBLIN:
For some reason we celebrated halloween not just Tuesday but Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday as well. I get the whole halloween weekend thing but a whole week? I thought America was avid about having a good time dressing up and having all of our livers hate us. But a week? Come on.
My friend and I were Fred and Barney Flinstone the first half of the week..
to which the best costumes won a bottle of champagne!
to which the best costumes won a bottle of champagne!
and...Steve Irwin and a singray Saturday night (I dearly apologize for any offense taken in this matter). And I am not dressing up on actual Halloween, my liver is already beginning to detach from my body.
